Whether friend or foe, aliens are all around the Discovery. They are bound to encounter many. If you would like to create a species in which the Discovery will meet or has met, fill out the information below:
[div align="center"][/div] Species Name: Appearance: description of how they look, how they dress, etc. Home World: Current World: (Only required if they have moved from their home world) Location of World: which galaxy, etc. Technological Advancement: (Pre-Industrial, Post Industrial, Warp Capable, How Fast Can They Travel? ie warp 4, Weapon Capabilities, etc.) Culture: (What they wear, eat, what religions they practice, traditions, etc.) Language: Special Features: anatomy weirdness? gills? telepathic abilities? list all those special things here. Approved Aliens
Once approved, they will be added to this post. Credit will be given to the creator, and will be taken down if the creator requests it so. Any stealing of these aliens, or if anyone stole an alien and posted it here, will mean banning of the person in question, and a request upon the site that steals from here to remove the stolen alien, planet, character, whatever.
Species Name: Atari(an) Appearance: Their skin is a dark black, however, their features have a bright outline, such as their hair outlined in white, lips in a blue color and their eyes in a red color. The way the picture looks, the face is that of an Atarian. Traditional wear includes a long black robe with a hood on it, which is what most Atari wear all the time. Other Atari wear includes a white robe, sometimes gloves, and sometimes a tan robe (though rare). Atari are very sensitive to the sun and heat, due to their origins under the ocean in darkness. Home World: Atari Prime Current World: Atari Prime Location of World: The Andromeda Galaxy, the very edge. The first inhabited planet the Discovery found. Technological Advancement: Very far ahead of the Federation, even now. Weapons are something the Atari don't really develop, but have developed weapons for only defense, and will stun or disable ships, but no killing. Culture: They worship a god named Larem, and the robes they wear are ceremonial, and for the honor of Larem. Atari are not supposed to eat when their star, Lor, is up, and should only eat when it is dark, or in the celebration of Lor, which happens for one week during an Earth year, where eating takes place only during the light. Language: Atrian Special Features: Two Hearts, one in the middle of their chest, and one right next to their spine. The ability to see in the dark well, but not great in the light. Black blood. A slightly telepathic link to one another, being able to tell when something major is going on with many Atari, despite being far away. History: The Atari are a people with only one religion, and in that religion, it says that Larem created the universe, and breathed life into it. Larem found Atari Prime years after breathing life into the universe, finding it a deserted and lonely place, and decided to make the planet happy and populated. Larem took stones and placed them upon each other, breathing upon the stack, giving life to the rocks. However, the stone people he created did not believe in him, and attacked Larem, scared of his power as well. Larem stumbled back into the water, and drowned. While Larem laid on the bottom of the ocean wondering what he had done wrong. His body decomposed, but his mind was still alive. Larem's body gave life to the plants and sediment around him. His mind flew from his body, and he had to watch only the world he had created as the stone people fought against each other. However, many years later, when Larem thought his life he created would kill and hurt other species, the water people rose up, black like the sand from the bottom of the ocean, taking the stone people prisoner, not killing them. However, while captured, the stone people killed themselves instead of be a prisoner, and the water people were all that remained. Larem continued to watch these curious water people evolve and soon turn into the kind of people he wished his stone people would have turned into. Larem was sad for the loss of his stone people, but these water people were his children too, and had been the people he wanted to populate the lonely world with.
The water people would come to call themselves Atari, and their skin would dry over generations. However, the Atari still lived where it was dark, sensitive to Lor's light. The Atari began worshiping Larem, their creator, and there were very few who denied the stories, or dissented from the religion. The Atari began settling together, working together, and soon created towns, cities, and countries. The Great War came many centuries ago, when the country of Latre came under the rule of Ril the Unbearable, who hurt many of his people, and the country of Ern attacked Latre in order to stop the atrocities that Ril committed. Latre did not go down without a fight, and the world nearly destroyed itself. There were few survivors after the war, mostly people who became nomads. However, the technology from before the war survived and tribes began advancing the technology farther, despite the highly nomadic lifestyles they led. They preached peace and the wish to never kill, even if it seems necessary. Soon the tribes of the world would come together and form the only city in the world, Meral. Here the people cooperated, and few would leave in the several centuries, and the city grew, covering half of the single continent on the planet. Their technology became more and more advanced, though use of the technology was limited, due to the scars from The Great War, which ended due to technology.
The USS Discovery found Atari Prime many years ago, and the Atari helped the young ship out, seeing themselves in these explorers, dating back to their nomadic times, when they would explore their world. While there were few Atari ships, their resources seemed endless, and helped rebulid much of the Discovery when the Yernate nearly destroyed the ship. Atari Minor, a planet a couple of solar systems away soon caught the Atari's eyes, where a civilization was having problems with the Yernate, despite not having the capabilities to go into space, to defend itself. The Atari built a space station near the planet, and request some of the Discovery's crew run the station, and they agreed, leaving some of their growing crew on the station, still around the now industrializing planet. The Atari have been supplying the station, but otherwise staying away. Their reason: Larem revealed to them, almost fifty years ago, that Atari Minor would destroy them eventually. The Atari do not know what to do now, and have been debating what to do for half a century. Whether to allow that future to happen, or destroy those who will destroy them, or try to stop them from destroying them. Most Atari believe to simply let it happen, while others are not quite as happy with that choice as the majority, causing conflict among the Atari.
