RA’KA MALIK

like this. And in all that, and perhaps more...only one of each of us.

in the universe.
Physical Appearance:
Unlike other records of Klingon and Human offspring, he didn’t develop the ridges on his forehead. Yet he retained the height and weight of a Klingon as he stands at 2.03 m (6’8”) and weighs in at around 145 kilos (320 lbs). He has the Klingon Empire emblem branded into his chest next to his brand of the Federation’s emblem. His body has a few scars from what combat he has seen and from training with his racial weapons.
Dressing Style:
He wears a traditional Klingon outfit that he inherited from his father. It is a wooly robe, almost identical to a human monk’s robes, which wrap his body and has several spots that allow him to attach a Kar'takin and a Bat'leth, which he does do. The robes have a hood he would put on should he want to be left alone. They reach to the ground and slightly touch often just dragging along. He always wears his mother's necklace which has a hologram of her and his father holding hands with her head on his chest.
Anatomy:
He may have the looks of a human, however internally he is Klingon without a doubt as he has the traditional twenty-three ribs, two livers, an eight-chambered heart, three lungs, and even redundant neural function as well as three stomachs. These allow him to survive more severe injuries than his Human crewmates.

Overall:
Ra’ka is sworn to a strict code of ethics and honour that he would rather die first then break a single rule on the code. He is a little fanatic about it due to his Klingon Heritage and being raised by his Father but besides that, he could be considered normal. He trains daily in combat and takes part in lessons often, but he can usually be found working with technology he has acquired. He doesn’t smile all that much and tends to keep a blank facial expression.
When he is being a good guy, which is most of the time, Ra’ka is great to be around. He doesn’t talk as much, so he is a great listener. He is always thereto lend a helping hand to anyone, and isn’t afraid to get a little messy to help his friends. He will keep his loyalty to anyone as long as he doesn’t break his code of honour. He often goes on nearly impossible tasks and does dangerous things to follow and stay true to his Path. He does know his limits but he is known to push past them trying to always be bettering himself.
All you really have to do is not piss him off and you’ll be golden. He has the best memory anyone could ask for and will hunt down anyone that harms or insults his friends to their grave. He’d beat a man to death with his bare hands if he is angry enough, but because of his training he has learned to control it, sometimes. He isn’t often quick to anger but he is slow to recover. The sight of blood can really get him going and he seems to have a bit of a crazed bloodlust as he fights. He often tends to fight like a controlled Berserker and refuses to hold back in a fight. He may seem to fight crazily, but every hit he aims to land on his opponent is strategically placed to end the fight as quickly as possible then move onto the next opponent.
How we deal with death is at least as important
as how we deal with life.

Overall History:
Ra'ka only grew up with his Father. All he knew of his mother was that she, like most human women that have carried a half Klingon, fainted often with him in the womb, she apparently passed while giving birth to him. His father often talked about how she was a unique woman and so strong. Ra'ka often wishes he had known her, he has a hologram of her and listens to her personal journal often, however he doesn't believe he actually knows her as she isn't physically with him.
Being raised by a Klingon wasn't all that difficult as the only non-Klingon part of him was his human exterior. Internally, both mentally and physically, he was Klingon. Even as he grew, he grew along a typical Klingon child's rate instead of a Human child. He began his training around the age of 2. His father personally instructed him in the use of the Kar'takin and Bat'leth, while another Klingon named Sho'Ta, another Security Officer, instructed him in the usage of pistols and rifles. Ra'ka took more to the Bat'leth and Kar'takin, but both Ki'tuk and Sho'Ta expected that as all Klingon typically do find melee easier to grasp than distance weapons. The training continued for some time until Ra'ka was finally able to get a decent hold on the Rifles that Sho'Ta was training him on when he was about 9 Earth years.
He didn't go to the school on the ship, instead learning the Traditional Klingon Way of Life. However, one of his mother's friends, Sharon De Ville, was very involved in his learning and taught him some Engineering when she could. When his father and Sho'ta were sent to a Planet's surface to investigate the culture there, they were only supposed to be gone for a couple of days, but something happened and it took several weeks. Over these weeks, Ra'ka started to show his technical expertise as he would do small jobs helping out in Engineering without needing much training or even supervision. Changing out the occasional short circuited wire or carrying something heavy that the Humans needed help with, he enjoyed studying and examining the tech. When his father and Sho'Ta returned, Ra'ka was happy but also sad as soon he was put back into a Klingon lifestyle. Sharon still visited when she could and when his father would allow her.
When Ra'ka was eleven, his was told he was ready for the Rite of Ascension. His father and Sho'Ta took him to a lounge room where several other Klingons gathered with pain sticks, without hesitation, they placed Ra'ka through the Rite. He walked through the line of Klingons and felt the pain but continued to announce that to day he was a warrior. When it was over, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment that the other Klingons understood all too well. His father spoke to his Superior and got Ra'ka on a training schedule to eventually work on the Security Teams. Ra'ka training mostly had him operating with incoming boarding parties as he appeared much older than he really was.
He operated as a trainee until he was 15, that's when he began jak'tahla. At first he wasn't sure what to make of it, and neither did his non-Klingon squad mates. His first violent outburst caused him to have to be subdued by his father and Sho'Ta. For his safety and the safety of the crew, he was placed in an isolation like room where his Father, Sharon and Sho'Ta would come visit him while he went through his "puberty". This lasted for two years until he finally ended it and returned to duty. During his Isolation, he received a copy of the Universal Translator and began listening to the other languages and started picking some of them up. When he wasn't using the UT, he father was able to get him a couple of weapons to examine. It was in these two years that Ra'ka developed himself as a potential asset to the crew in multiple ways. Afterwards, he rejoined the security force as a trainee and eventually made into an actual Security Officer.
His father was very proud of him and even presented him with his own Bat'leth on his 21st birthday after he succeeded his second Rite of Ascension. Since then, he has been following his orders and keep his nose clean when he can. He dos get sent to a couple of civilizations here and there, but most of the time he just performs maintenance on the Weapons Systems and experiments with new tech and new weapons when he can.
