Everyone has to follow the Prime Directive; any rule breakers will be punished accordingly, warnings, bannings, and perhaps even deletion of an account if it gets that far. I don't want to get that far, so, be good, follow the Prime Directive, and not like Kirk follows the directive, but like Starfleet is supposed to follow the directive.
Sub-Section 1
Respect. Everyone needs it. Live by the golden rule, and we will all be good. Just don't disrespect anyone.
Sub-Section 2
Be nice to everyone. Let new people join in on the conversations, don't leave anyone out. Also make sure that everyone has at least a thread to RP on. I hate when I join a site and make an open thread that no one joins.
Sub-Section 1
One character per account! This makes it easier for the other RP'ers to see which character you are using. It just is easier. So one character per account. You may create multiple accounts for multiple characters, but each one will be just one character.
Sub-Section 2
No Perfect People! This means no people who never get hurt, or always is right. It gets interesting if a person accidentally makes a mistake in the Star Trek World. No being related to a main canon, such as being Jeff Janeway. Also we don't like similar names, unless you ask an admin. So no Pucards. After all, we're on a ship far far away from all that canon play.
Sub-Section 3
Regarding Species. You can have as many Humans, Vulcans, Betaziods, Deltans, Klingons, etc. as you want. We want to keep this realistic (or realistic in Star Trek terms), so try to keep each person not just human. These people have been on a ship for several generations. There's going to be at least a little of intermingling of species.
Sub-Section 4
Everyone loves making either girls or guys, and I understand that. If you have 3 of one gender throw in the other gender. However, if there are a whole lot of one gender, if you want to make a fourth of the gender that is low on characters, go ahead, we like to keep things equal.
Sub-Section 5
When applying for a senior staffing opportunity, you must be active. If you are inactive without letting us know you will be gone, for more than two weeks, that character dies, and someone else can move up to your position. You are warned.
Section 3: Role-Playing
Sub-Section 1
No Word Limit, though if there are too many really short posts, there will be one. Try to aim for at least two paragraphs, and have it not all be dialog. Keep posts in third person, and past tense.

NOT:
I know the secret code when I am applying for a character is "Resistance is Futile"!
Correct:
The captain knew the secret code for applying with a character was "Resistance is Futile."
Sub-Section 2
When on the ship, a commanding officer can contact a person during a thread, when that happens react like your character heard it. Staff and commanding officers will keep their intercom communications to open threads and away missions, but if I see you are going a little too far (you know going over PG-13) I might intervene on a tagged thread. But other than that, tagged threads will stay between the two.
When using the intercom use Italics to show this. When using an intercom you only place what they say on the post, nothing else since the characters won't see you.
For example:
The captain tapped her badge and spoke to the crew members.
"Ensign get up here now!" - That is not right. Try this:
Ensign get up here now!
This is a good intercom message. They should be short and in italics.
Sub-Section 3
No Adult Content. This means keep it PG-13. Remember Blackouts are your friend if you really want it to go that way. This is for all ages, so keep that in mind. If you think it might be over, PM an admin before posting it. (Remember the code, when asked for in your application, is "Resistance is Futile"). You will get in big trouble if you don't, and your thread will be deleted and you may be banned depending on the severity of your transgression. Romance is allowed, just don't go overboard. Pregnancies happen, but please PM an admin before hand so we can approve it, or anything such as pregnancies.
Sub-Section 4
During an event or plot, if you sign up for a position, be there. I know life happens, that's alright. Emergencies can arise, and we'll understand, but please try to be there in the event. With events, sub-plots, be sure that your character is only in one place at a time. They can't be working in engineering, on the bridge and also reporting from down on the planet. One place, one time.

Avatars. Everyone should have one. Please use a 150x150 photo, or if bigger scale it down to at least 150x150 (either dimension can be less). Anything too much smaller seems really small. If you need help finding one, a member or admin will help you out.
Sub-Section 2
Everyone has to claim a face. If you are an alien in need of a face claim, or human and you want your celebrity to be in uniform, there is this nifty little site I found that can help you out. (Remember the code in your application will be "Resistance is Futile") Go to stavatars.net/?page=avatars and just choose gender, species, etc. and there is a whole list of faces you can claim including pictures if you click them.
Sub-Section 3
Signatures. Keep them 500px wide, or less and 350px or less in height. Signatures should show something about your character or the plot. Please include a picture of your character in your signature. This isn't required, but is recommended.
Sub-Section 4
In General nothing above PG-13, and nothing that has nothing to do with your character or the plot. You a required to have at least one, avatar (150x150 or less) or signature (500x350 or less), but is highly recommended to have both.
